Fredericksburg, TX – December 29, 2023: “Join Us for the 2024 Hill District Grandstand Livestock Show: Building a Tradition of Excellence”

 

The 2024 Hill District Grandstand Livestock Show is just around the corner, and we couldn’t be more excited to invite you and your family to join us for this annual event. From January 12 through January 20, 2024, we will be showcasing the hard work and dedication of our 4-H and FFA youth from across the state of Texas. This event, held in multiple towns across the Texas Hill Country, including Fredericksburg, Llano, Comfort, and Kerrville, is a celebration of the agriculture industry and the future of our youth.

As we continue to build a tradition of excellence, we are proud to support our young exhibitors and their commitment to raising show animals. In 2023, we gave more than $70,600 to Breeding and Ag Mech exhibitors as well as raised $675,350 to support Texas 4-H and FFA youth through the Hill District Grandstand Youth Auction, providing them with valuable resources to further their agricultural education. Our motto, “Their Future is Worth the Finish,” reflects our belief that investing in these young individuals is crucial for the future of agriculture.

We are grateful for the support of our communities, who have selflessly given to help us achieve our goals. Each project in the show is an investment of time, money, hard work, and persistence, and we are proud to see our exhibitors’ dedication pay off. Our exhibitors, 116 lots in total, went home with no less than $3,000 each (cattle no less than $5,000 each) to put towards their education and future projects.

The Market Shows and Gilt Show will feature exhibitors from over 40 counties, along with statewide competitions in Breeding Sheep, Poultry, and Agricultural Mechanics. We are also excited to announce a statewide Livestock Judging Contest, where our youth will have the opportunity to showcase their knowledge and skills in the industry.

But the highlight of the event is undoubtedly the auction on January 20, where you can see the future of agriculture in action. Mandy Geistweidt, Youth Auction Coordinator, invites you to witness the hard work and dedication of our young exhibitors as they showcase their animals and compete for top honors. Trey Dittmar, a Board Member, also shares his excitement, stating, “Several donors have generously contributed to our auction, and we are grateful for their support in helping us achieve our goals.”
