Lacey Matney, a dedicated and passionate 17-year-old junior, has emerged as the Reserve Champion Southdown Lamb winner at the 2025 Hill District Grandstand, showcasing not only her skills but also the spirit of the La Vernia FFA.

Lacey’s journey began with a special moment when she picked out her Southdown lamb. She was filled with hope and dreams of success. From that day, she embarked on an incredible journey of dedication and hard work, culminating in her extraordinary achievement at this prestigious event. It’s moments like these that highlight the potential of our youth and the importance of agricultural programs like the FFA.

Outside the show ring, Lacey is also known for her dreams and aspirations in sports. With a keen interest in basketball, she hopes to play at the collegiate level and eventually, become a coach.
