A Strong Educational Foundation
Macey’s deep-rooted knowledge and expertise in livestock stem from an excellent educational background. She began her academic journey at Redlands Community College, where she earned her Associate of Animal Science degree before continuing on to Oklahoma State University to complete both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Animal Science. Her academic achievements reflect her commitment to understanding and advancing practices within the livestock industry.
A Judging Resume That Spans the Nation
Macey’s judging experience covers an impressive range—from local county fairs to major livestock events on the national stage. Her ability to evaluate livestock with a professional eye and her deep understanding of show standards have made her a sought-after name in the judging rings across the country.
“I’ve been fortunate to judge cattle shows from the county level to the major level across the nation,” Macey shares. This breadth of experience ensures that exhibitors at the 2026 HDGS will be judged by one of the best in the business.
An Industry with a Personal Touch
What truly sets Macey apart is her passion for the livestock community and the time she dedicates to the role of a judge. “I am so thankful to have been raised in the livestock industry. It truly has made me who I am today,” she says.
For Macey, judging isn’t just about evaluating animals; it’s about honoring the hard work, dedication, and sacrifices exhibitors put into their craft. “Every time I have the opportunity to step into a ring in a judging role, I try to give 110% because we all know how much time, money, and sacrifice it takes to show. But there is no better activity for our youth to make strong leaders for the future!”
Her commitment to fostering strong leaders in the livestock community is evident in her presence and enthusiasm for each event she judges.
Words of Wisdom for Exhibitors
For young exhibitors stepping into the ring at the 2026 Hill District Grandstand Livestock Show, Macey offers this inspiring quote from Theodore Roosevelt to keep in mind during the competition:
“Nobody cares how much you know until they know how much you care.”
A Lifelong Connection to Livestock
Macey’s passion for livestock began early, growing up fully immersed in her family’s show cattle operation. That love for the industry continues today, as she and her husband raise livestock. Her firsthand experience and personal connection to the industry allow her to understand the dedication required to succeed in livestock showing.
Life Beyond the Ring
When she’s not at livestock shows or working with cattle, Macey enjoys spending time with her family. She also loves to read and explore new places whenever the opportunity arises. Her hobbies speak to her well-rounded personality and highlight her ability to stay grounded while connecting with exhibitors and their families on a personal level.
